We took the kids up to the Warmke’s house in Truckee to go skiing. Conditions were gorgeous – sunny and clear, with still reasonable snow conditions. Sierra had a breakthrough in ability- at the beginning of the first day, she couldn’t ski without support, and would frequently fall. By the end of the same day, she was doing everything on her own, including getting on and off the lift. It’s amazing how fast they graduate to being little zipsters flying past without fear or favor.
Kade still prefers to be held up while skiing down, casually leaning back when the terrain gets too bouncy.
The photos and footage were shot with a new camera – a Casio EX-FC100. It took us a while to realize that the movies by default shoot in an aspect ratio of 16:9 (high definition) rather than the usual standard definition 4:3. As a result, subjects are occasionally decapitated – apologies.
