We took the kids camping on Angel Island, in San Francisco Bay. There are three enormously popular campsites on the island that overlook the city and the bridges- a $10 million dollar view for $10 (tent not included). When Don made the reservations in June, this was the first open weekend. December San Francisco weather is always touchy, but held together well enough for us to load up the bicycle trailer, catch the ferry, and go. Sierra did well on her first major trip without training wheels. Laura decided she doesn’t mind camping where there’s a cafe that serves beer. Don found that pedaling up the hill with a full trailer is harder than it looks.
