We made our annual trip to Stanford’s alumni camp near Lake Tahoe. The kids have gotten old enough where they don’t really need us around anymore – they gravitate towards their 10-year old girl group/8-year old boy posse, leaving us on our own. Sierra learned to waterski this time (no mean feat in a frigid lake fed by runoff from melting snow), and Kade made a short detour to the emergency care clinic in South Lake Tahoe to get four stiches in his leg (he fell on a hike, no permanent damage).
