Green River Rafting

Kade and Don went rafting on the Green Driver through Desolation and Gray Canyons in Western Utah. Allen Roberts and Shiera Brady put the trip together; Allen had been a river guide in college and is very familiar with this stretch. We put in a few hours drive from Vernal and took out at Green River, UT. The canyon is remote; there is no permanent habitation on its banks, most of it has no road access, and there is no cellular service.

It’s a good river to learn how to row; the first two days are basically flat water, and none of the rapids are life threatening. Don and Kade did manage to flip an inflatable kayak in one (small) rapid; unfortunately this wasn’t photographically preserved for posterity.
