Our big trip for Christmas Break this year was to Antarctica. From Punta Arenas, Chile, we flew to Frei Station in the South Shetland Islands and then boarded the Hebredian Sky for a six day tour. Flying the Drake Strait is tricky because of weather- we had to go a day early to take advantage of a favorable landing window. Once on board, we cruised down to the Antarctica Peninsula. There were many chances to go kayaking, to cruise in zodiac boats, and to hike. We saw whales, orcas, seals, penguins, plus many other variety of birds.
